As a Project Manager at Viso Lighting, you will be a key player in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, from inception to completion.
Your role is the heartbeat of Viso; you will be overseeing project timelines, resources, and deliverables, contributing to the overall success of our team.
Key Duties:
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop and hold the team to account on comprehensive project plans and timelines, ensuring all aspects are considered for successful execution.
Team Coordination:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources, define project scope, and ensure everyone is aligned with project objectives.
Timeline Management:
Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed and delivered to the client on schedule and within scope.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Communication:
Facilitate consistent, clear, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress and changes.
Budget Oversight:
Work closely with financial teams to monitor project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met without compromising project quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 35 years' experience working as a project manager.
- Direct experience in project management of electrical, lighting, lighting fixture installations, building condition assessments, or project planning will be seen as a strong advantage but not mandatory.
- Deep understanding of the project lifecycle, including all phases from initiation to closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Attend, lead, and be responsible for internal kickoff meetings of awarded projects with estimating and business development.
- Attain all required information from design, estimating and/or business development to take over all project responsibilities for execution.
- Create and maintain project progress files, timesheets, Gantt charts and work in progress (WIP) sheets.
- Monitor project health continuously using progress files for project completion percentage and work in progress sheets for financial metrics and forecasting project costs at completion.
- Help and assist quoting and purchasing for all required materials, equipment, and ancillary requirements.
- Coordinate with accounting in creating invoices based on project progress and communicate with the accounting division on all relevant invoicing requirements and instructions as well as when to invoice.
- Maintain and seek out relationships with material vendors to ensure Viso has access to competitive material pricing and ensure a diverse network of vendors is available to secure material delivery.
- Actively communicate with all new and current clients on ongoing projects to ensure high customer satisfaction. Ensure final walkthrough and signoff when the project is completed.
- Attend and lead meetings with clients and stakeholders on project deliverables on an ongoing basis.
- Mentor site supervision on company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all project safety requirements.
- Perform regular site visits to show our clients a strong management presence onsite to monitor and stay engaged with field personnel.
- Ensure site supervision has all required information to be successful onsite. Internal project kickoffs with site supervision will be key to project success.
- Provide support to inhouse estimators and provide feedback on completed projects to help refine estimation.
- Read CAD drawings and work with industrial designers for project kickoff and gather information.
- Perform estimates as required for additional work on current projects or change order requests from the client.
- Create change order requests for additional work onsite or as directed by our clients.
- Travel may be needed to project sites for progress and client meetings (est. <10% travel time).
- Other duties as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Effective communication to both internal and external sources
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Solid Works is a bonus.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of Epicor, NetSuite or other ERP systems is considered an asset.
