Description
The Maintenance Worker II of Villa Marguerite works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and is required to travel to Sprucewood Place as needed.
As a valued interdisciplinary Staff member, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring that all physical plant and building operations are in proper working order and meet mandated codes and manufacturer recommendations, PPSL standards and policies specifically in relation to waste management, infection prevention and control, risk management and WHMIS.
They will utilize a preventative maintenance approach to prevent accidents and/or operation breakdown. Treats residents with dignity and demonstrates an attitude of caring. This is an AUPE unionized position.Qualifications:
- Experience in building and outdoor maintenance including: basic plumbing, framing, dry walling & painting
- Experience operating equipment, maintenance and repair such as snow blower, lawn mower, electric & hand tools
- Valid driver' license. (Drivers Abstract required)
- Must be physically fit and in general good health with the
ability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time - Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Clear criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
- Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team
