    About the Job:




    The Registered Nurse:

    • Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
    • Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
    • Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
    • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

    This is a RELIEF PART-TIME (0.82 FTE) opportunity until May 1, 2024, or the return of the incumbent.


    This is an Overnight Support position. Shifts of work will be scheduled nights; rotating from 23:00 to 08:00 hours.

    About this location/unit:

    The Central Okanagan Hospice House is a 24 bed facility opened in 2008. The Hospice House has 2 x 12 beds "houses". All patient rooms are private, with own bath/shower room.

    Each house is fully equipped with living/dining room, quiet room, kitchen, spa, as well as all nursing areas required to provide care.

    We have 24/7 RN, LPN/LTCA coverage.

    Serving the area of the Central Okanagan from Peachland to Oyama, this Interior Health facility is a home away from home that provides Hospice Palliative Care to patients that have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, that have been admitted to the Hospice Palliative Care program.

    Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, the thriving City of Kelowna is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Okanagan in the South Central Region of British Columbia.

    It is the largest city in the area and boasts all of the amenities of a major centre including fine dining, unique shops and a vibrant arts and culture scene.

    Wine tours, golfing, skiing, boating, swimming and camping are among the many recreational activities enjoyed by residents here.
