The Technical Trainer I contributes to the development and conduct of trainings that support and drive employee technical competence in laboratory testing, sterilization processing, and regulatory compliance, at all levels of the organization, aligned to the overall AST technical training strategy.


What you will do:


  • Performs virtual or inperson classroom duties as required to train employees according to assigned curriculums, and individualized courses, as necessary. These duties include, but are not limited to, classroom lecture, group discussions/role plays, videos, handson activities, testing and evaluation.
  • Builds experience in assessing training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers and Technical Training team
  • Performs training lab/practicum duties as required to train students according to assigned curriculums. These duties include, but are not limited to, performance/demonstration of handson tasks, lab monitoring, testing, and evaluation.
  • Evaluates students enrolled in classes with the Technical Training department. Evaluation may include written tests, lab practical exercises, one on one encounters, and discussions of course materials. Communicates his/her evaluation to appropriate parties (per company policy) when required to do so. Provides counsel to students and recommends remediation to students on an asneeded basis.
  • Actively collaborates with Technical Training department on the development and organization of creative learning solutions, lesson plans, and training course materials such as handouts and visual materials.

You will be a great fit if you can:

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 years conducting training in industrial, vocational, or technical area preferred
  • Approved Instructor Training Program Certification preferred.
  • 2 years conducting training on maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical or electronic equipment highly desired.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English; bilingual preferred.
  • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal and communication 4. Above average organizing and task management skills; attention to detail.
  • Incorporate creativity and variety in the conduct of training and program or material revisions.
  • Aptitude for adapting to change and thinking outside the box, innovative thinker.
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
