Systems Administrator - Toronto, Canada - CDW
Description
CDW is looking for a versatile and experienced technical admin to join its Managed Services team. Your background should have exposure to a wide breadth of technologies including servers, cloud, storage, networking, virtualization and security. Responsibilities
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in customer environments
- Communicate with customers, teammates, and management
- Provide thorough ticket updates
- Coordinate with vendors to repair or replace hardware
- Monitor customer environments and infrastructure
- Respond to alerts and action or escalate as required
Operations
- Follow ITIL practices regarding incident, problem and change management
- Perform system administration on servers, storage, cloud, hypervisor, etc
- Document and update technical procedures, administrative processes, configuration management
- Work within revision control for tool or script development
- Contribute towards the development of automation
Provisioning
- Deploy new services and environments for customers and internal systems
- Create, update and maintain customer build documents and runbooks
- Help research, develop and implement new services, tools and software
Qualifications
- Minimum Education and/or Experience
- 5+ years' experience of infrastructure management including a focus on customer service and complex technical assistance
- 3+ years of Linux experience
Other Required Qualifications
- Experience with Scripting /
Automation Technologies:
Bash, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell
- Experience with software release management and CI/CD processes
- Experience with cloud technology, AWS and/or Azure
- Experience with ticketing and monitoring systems
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Afterhours and oncall rotation availability
- Short distance travel required for Datacenter access Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of Linux RHEL or CentOS
- Experience with databases (SQL, OpenSQL) considered an asset
- Experience with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible Tower
- Cisco USC, Dell or HP servers, NetApp, ESX hypervisor, backup or disaster recovery systems

Customer Focus and Quality Management Responsibilities
Each CDW coworker is responsible for maintaining customer focus and conforms to the CDW quality management system
Specific responsibilities include:
- Periodic reviews of CDW Circle of Service Philosophy and the Quality Policy to understand CDW's commitment to excellent client service and continual improvement and to conform to these policies and philosophies at all times
- And after the orientation period to conform to these procedures and instructions, including any reporting (and/or record keeping) responsibilities.
