Procurement Services at Unity Health Toronto manages the purchasing services and administration of the procurement process within the hospital.

This includes purchasing of supplies, services and equipment that are necessary to support the activities of the hospital and meet our goals and objectives.

Procurement Services issues tenders, negotiates and awards contracts on behalf of the hospital. Procurement Services staff strive to obtain the right goods and services in the most efficient and cost effective manner.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manages Extensity Lawson data used for Purchasing, Sourcing, Accounts Payable and Stockroom functions at Unity Health Toronto.
  • Ensures integrity within related data files (Vendor, Item, Pricing, Contract, etc.) is maintained in an accurate and efficient manner, following predetermined policies and nomenclature.
  • Completes Vendor master file audits and validates against external data provided regularly throughout the year.
  • Reviews vendor and/or item data to ensure contract pricing is updated appropriately.
  • Monitors and ensures system transactions are processed in a timely manner via EDI/fax/print transmissions at scheduled times.
  • Expands ecommerce capabilities within the hospital.
  • Troubleshoots problems through analyzing system report and taking action to resolve the issues.
  • Supports department staff to ensure system information is as accurate and uptodate as possible.
  • Analyzes system information and provide requested reports to Manager and or other staff.
  • Participates in module upgrades and training of new employees in Procurement Services.
  • Contributes to the strategic review of procurement database initiatives.
  • Acts as a backup for Customer Service Representative.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum two years of related experience in a database environment would be an asset.
  • Post secondary education preferably in a information technology or business studies related program
  • Excellent communication (both verbal/written), decision making, analytical/conceptual skills and interpersonal competence are essential.
  • Ability to create and maintain large database files with advanced data entry and willingness to learn higher level computer skills.
  • High percentage of accuracy aptitude absolutely essential.
  • Knowledge of Extensity Lawson (SCM Modules) would be an asset.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Visual Basic for Applications to support ongoing evolution of reporting tools would be a definite asset.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.
