- in Recreation and Leisure Studies with Specialization in Therapeutic Recreation, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-3 years experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities with proven time management skills
- Ability to function independently, demonstrate sound problem solving skills and safe work practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all team members.
- Flexible to meet changing department / service needs
- Rehab and / or Geriatric assessment and treatment experience an asset.

Job Description
As a member of the Complex Continuing Care Unit multidisciplinary patient care team will provide Recreational therapy for patients on the unit. These patients will require complex medical care, Functional Enhancement or Palliative care, all having the ultimate goal of returning to the community. Scheduled evening and /or weekend programming required. As a Team member the Recreational therapist will assist with establishing co-ordinated patient focused goals and discharge plans. The Rec.Therapist will identify through individual assessment, leisure interests and attitudes and provide programs to improve and maintain mental, physical and socio-emotional functioning through individual or group programming. Maintain and build clinical skills through ongoing education and self directed learning. Base Treatment/Program plans on best practice guidelines.
