Job Summary

Northern Alberta Heating is a leading commercial HVAC contractor dedicated to providing high-quality HVAC duct systems and metal fabrication. We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Journeyman Field Supervisor to lead our site crews, ensuring safety, efficiency and superior craftsmanship on all projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing the hoisting and installation of roof-mounted equipment and HVAC systems across various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, and blueprint reading. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality craftsmanship in diverse environments, including renovations and new commercial construction settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced sheet metal journeyman to apply their skills in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and train sheet metal workers and apprentices on various commercial job sites
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of tasks, including completion of steel drawings
• Schedule daily workflows, coordinate with project managers and other trades to meet tight deadlines
• Collaborate with team members, mechanical contractors and general contractors to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety standards
• Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards and technical specifications
• Monitor job progress, manage material inventory and report on labour/material budgets
• Ensure all on-site work meets or exceeds OH&S standards, complete and/or assist in the completion of required safety paperwork and lead investigations and inspections as required

Experience

• Proven experience working with sheet metal systems in commercial or industrial environments - 5+ years in commercial HVAC with at least 2 years in a supervisory/foreman role
• Familiarity with blueprint interpretation and schematic diagrams is essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/tablets for reporting and communicaton
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while adhering to safety protocols
• Leadership and problem-solving skills - resolve on-site issues and make recommendations for improvement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $98,000.00 per year
