Job Summary:


Reporting to the senior scientist in the team, the Analytical Research Associate will work within and across the Domains of expertise (Pharmaceutical Development, Pharmacology, Biologics and Medicinal Chemistry) and will participate in inter-disciplinary drug research and development project teams.

Working within the teams the Research Associate will provide scientific expertise, design, and conduct critical experiments to advance small molecule and biologic therapeutics technologies through early pre-clinical development and CMC activities as required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Primary research area will include analytical/bioanalytical characterization of therapeutic drug products including small molecules and biomolecules.
  • Conduct experiments to obtain data in support of multiple drug development projects, including purity analysis of new synthetic compounds, characterization of formulations of drug products, dissolution, and stability studies.
  • Analyze bioanalytical samples from pharmacokinetic and ADME studies.
  • Maintain the quality and availability of routine reagents and standards.
  • Develop and implement analytical methods and procedures using methods such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, thermal analysis and SEC-MALS, DLS, and associated scientific data acquisition software.
  • Present and discuss data/results in team meetings, documenting results, preparing formal reports, and writing study protocols and procedures.
  • Provide bioanalytical support to invivo pharmacokinetic and distribution studies.
  • Aid in the development of material specifications, stability, and other protocols.
  • Provide training to adMare Staff and academic scientists on the operation of analytical and bioanalytical equipment.
  • Coordinate required maintenance, calibration, and qualification of instruments.
  • Performs physical and chemical characterization of drug compounds and inactive formulation ingredients.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise to leverage and execute new technologies and capabilities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or other Health Science disciplines and a minimum of two years directly related experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industrial working experience is preferred.
  • Strong handson experience in analytical and bioanalytical method development, and validation.
  • Knowledge and expertise should include analysis of small molecules and biomolecules utilizing HPLC, GPC, LC/MS, MS/MS, UV/VIS absorbance and fluorescence, evaporative light scattering, and thermal analysis instruments.
  • Knowledge of Waters MassLynx and Empower chromatography software is an asset.
  • Requires a high degree of selfmotivation, creativity, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently and organize experimental plans and protocols.
  • Strong scientific writing, oral communication, and project management skill.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
