    The Opportunity

    The South Bow Safety and Emergency Management group is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Professional to join and grow with the South Bow Team as a Business Analyst to provide Health & Safety support and expertise to enable our business to manage risk and protect the wellbeing of our people, based in Calgary, AB.

    Reporting to the Safety Program and Culture Manager, this position will focus on the supporting the administration and continuous improvement of our Health & Safety program as well as the on-going delivery of South Bow's Health & Safety Culture. The successful individual will have a good understanding of health and safety best practices, operational management system, and performance reporting.     What You'll Do

  • Be accountable for the implementation of our standardized enterprise and business unit level health, safety, and quality reporting as well as the development of reporting standards and templates
  • Provide oversight and subject matter expertise for the Incident Management Program regarding classification, reporting, regulatory compliance, and lesson learned
  • Support health and safety governance and assurance activities
  • Generate and distribute reoccurring reports, trending and analysis related to health, safety and quality including dashboards prepared for executive and board reporting
  • Consult with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure South Bow's health and safety reporting needs are being met
  • Collect, track, and analyze health, safety, and quality metrics/reports to understand key business drivers and to facilitate business decisions
  • Support the development of internal/external reports as well as presentation materials, including visualizations as required
  • Provide a high level of customer service by ensuring effective processes are in place and providing health and safety support across the organization, to help facilitate business decisions
  • Foster a positive safety culture by building human and organizational performance to strengthen our cultural defenses and develop error-tolerant systems to better protect our people
  • Provide support in the coordination, implementation, and administration of South Bow's training as required
  • Provide support to incident investigations, emergency response, audits, and assurance activities as required
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education, typically a university degree, in a related field
  • 6 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience consolidating, summarizing, and analyzing data from multiple sources in a concise manner
  • Strong analytical abilities in gaining understanding of business requirements and translating requests into report generation and interpretation
  • Experience with Health & Safety systems, reporting, and data analytics
  • Experience with occupational health, personal and process safety programs, operational management systems, corporate governance, and contractor management
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications / Designation in Six Sigma / Lean / Kaizen
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex information obtained from a variety of sources and to formulate recommendations
  • Experience with pipeline and/or facility construction and/or within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Strong knowledge legislative requirements governing health and safety at the federal, provincial, and state levels (i.e., OSHA, COHSR and other applicable Standards)
