Ardel Steel, a Western division of Salit Group of Companies, has established a solid reputation in the fabrication, distribution and installation of reinforcing steel and related products in Saskatchewan.
We are seeking a motivated individual with a winning attitude for the position of
Delivery Driver.
This individual must be self-motivated and willing to take on a variety of tasks within the shop as well as delivering product to customers when needed.
Core Duties:
- Operate company vehicles to deliver rebar and other related products
- Perform pretrip inspection of vehicle
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
- Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods
- Communicate with the Operations Coordinator and the Rebar Production Supervisor to schedule shipping dates of customer needs
- Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. overhead cranes, lifts, etc.)
- Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure from the elements
- Commitment toward being a team player, stepping in when required and overall attitude toward team environment, willingness to do whatever task is required
Qualifications:
- Require a positive and customer focused attitude
- Posses a valid 1A or 3A driver's license and produce a drivers abstract
- Have steel toed work boots
- Have the ability to climb up and down trailers / truck decks
- Have the ability to lift and maneuver 75lbs without physical restrictions
- Have the willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
- Have previous service industry/manufacturing experience would be an asset
- Be mechanically inclined
- Have knowledge of the rebar/steel industry a definite asset
- Have experience operating overhead cranes
The physical demands of this job require continual use of hands, arms, legs and movement of the entire body for the purposes of lifting, balancing and handling materials.
The daily use of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel toe work boots, gloves, helmets and hearing protection will be required.
