Full Time Position
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) provides support to the Project Manager to execute projects.

A successful APM demonstrates a fundamental working knowledge of core project management skills:
Stakeholder Engagement, Ability to Influence, and Risk & Opportunity Management.

Working as a team member or independently, the APM requires strong problem solving and communication skills coupled with a drive to produce results.

Qualifications:

Education:

Post-secondary degree, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline

PMP (or equivalent) designation an asset

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an engineering or programmatic environment

Must be proficient in the use of MS office products (Excel, Project, Word, Etc.)

Excellent communication skills and strong capability in stakeholder management and teamwork; pro-active, results-focused, and proficient in working within deadlines

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the AOPS Program Management team with assigned Project Management tasks which include deliverables and coordination associated with ship construction and contract requirements

Supporting major construction milestone projects such as Mega Block Moves, Launch, Sea Trials, and Delivery

Develop a strong trusting relationship with external and internal customers

Effectively working with external and internal customers to identify risks and opportunities

Properly manage the scope of work, monitor and report to the Project Manager any variations to expected project performance or deliverables
