Description
This individual will be responsible for the management and direction of all the company's production activities, at their location. The Production Manager is in constant interaction with the operations of the company, and supervises/leads the production staff.


Through their leadership and vision, the Production Manager drives the production team to carry out the necessary actions to ensure the top performance of the location.

By adopting best management practices and working with its production team, they continually improve the performance and efficiency of the plant.

This individual will be responsible for creating a high-performance work environment that promotes collaboration, employee engagement, customer satisfaction and goal attainment at all levels.


Essential Duties:


  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met and adhered to by the production supervisors, lead hands and production employees.
  • Planning and organizing production schedules, monitoring production activities to ensure required deliveries are achieved on time, on quality and on budget.
  • Working within the company ERP system to plan, schedule and manage departmental activities.
  • Supervising the daily work of production supervisors, lead hands and production staff to achieve production plans.
  • Reviewing daily work load and performance of each production cell, implement changes as required. Open/close shifts as necessary.
  • Renegotiating and communicating timescales or schedules changes in cooperation with Planning and Sales Team.
  • Ensuring production actions and processes are adhered to company quality manual at all times with continuous improvement mind set.
  • Recommend and implement productivity (efficiency, direct labor usage) improvement actions.
  • Assessing capital projects and resource requirements as per the annual plan. Estimating, negotiating and agreeing to budgets and timescales for capital and expense projects.
  • Identify and Execute cost reduction projects till successful completion and sustain the gains.
  • Planning and documenting standardization across all processes to drive efficiency and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Organizing the repairs and routine maintenance activities of production machinery and equipment.
  • Liaising and communicating with other departments to achieve business goals
  • Materials, QC, Scheduling, Engineering, Sales & Marketing staff as necessary.
  • Hire and train personnel for short/long term departmental needs.
  • Comply with other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Skills/requirements:

  • Knowledge of local EHS codes.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical and analytical skills using ERP and Excel.
  • IFS/SAP fluency and conducting ERP analysis.
  • Project management skills.
  • Able to prepare and present plant operations data/KPIs and financial data using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Lean management skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • IT and numerical skills.

Other Duties:
As assigned by the Plant Manager.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in business preferred.
  • 710 years experience in an industrial plant/manufacturing environment required.
  • 5+ years managing and developing employees required.
  • Lean Six Sigma skills and proven track record of lean leadership required.
  • Proficient in English.

Suppliers and internal/external customers


Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Master's degree in business preferred.


Experience Required:7-10 years in a high pace manufacturing environment. 5+ years managing and developing employees required.


Physical Skill and Effort:
Requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and closely coordinated manual skill. Work also requires a considerable variety of fairly steady, active physical exertion.


Working Conditions and Hazards:
Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible or no exposure.
