Medical Office Assistant Position Overview MOAs use initiative, problem-solving and leadership skills to work together as a team and ensure the smooth operation of the physicians' front and back office.


Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Responsibilities Manage/monitor scheduler for all physicians each day to ensure efficient Patient Flow using appropriate scheduler processes/icons Assemble and coordinate with patient to obtain all required materials and documents relating to upcoming appts for a 3 day advance window Prepare/disinfect exam rooms for patients and procedures Greet patients and transport to exam rooms Complete appropriate patient and equipment prep (height, weight, vitals, chief complaint ect) Manage verbal and EMR task requests.

Prioritize, log and complete in a timely manner Coordinate referrals/test bookings with patients and offices.

Participation in Preventative Care Management Campaign Management of pending test and consult lists Process all specimens Completes all billing as it occurs throughout the day (for procedures ie urine, BHCG) Maintains exceptional documentation throughout all position responsibilities.

Always connect back to the EMR chart to update actions. Receives appropriate MOA telephone inquiries and transfers requests outside of scope to most appropriate staff member.

Prepares and ensures appropriate level of stock of physician packages (prenatal ect) Participates in end of day facility and instrument cleaning processes including laundry, biohazard materials and plugging in of equipment.

Ensure exam rooms are stocked daily Support nursing as necessary and appropriate. Participates in creation and updating of office procedures, policies and tools as needed. Assists in the development and training of new staff

Requirements - Essential Excellent knowledge of Telus Med-Access EMR and Netcare is a must.

Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and as a valuable member in a team environment to achieve expected results.

Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional organization, time management and prioritizing skills. Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations while remaining calm Demonstrate elevated work ethic Ability to adhere to center confidentiality policies


Physical and Environmental Demands This position will require long hours sitting and using office computers/equipment which can cause muscle strain This position requires occasional lifting of supplies and materials This position requires some light walking and standing Persons in this position will be working in a busy, open office environment and will be faced with constant interruptions and interactions with others regularly.
