    Intel Foundry Services (IFS) is an independent foundry business that is established to meet our customers' unique product needs. This job opportunity in IFS will be part of the Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) group which is responsible for the portions of the system foundry that brings the best of Intel technologies to IFS customers, differentiating and accelerating their solutions from architecture to post-silicon validation.

    The Electrical Validation Engineer will be responsible for evaluating complex analog and mixed signal SOC components or integrated circuitry for foundry customers. This involves working with the Electrical validation and HW engineers, focused on electrical validation to guarantee product compliance and performance to customer requirements.

    As a Electrical Validation Engineer you will:

    • Be the Technical Lead and architect for the EV team.
    • Participate in the TR (Technical readiness) activity for new customer scoping.
    • Develop EV methodology and coverage for new IP architecture.
    • Define DFX requirement for new IP and platform testability and debug capability.
    • Work with enabling and tools team to define PreSi simulation requirement for test content validation, as well as post Si tool for characterization automation and execution automation.
    • Provide technical support or lead task forces for critical issues.
    • Drive debug activity to root cause and work with design for solution.
    • Provide technical support or lead EVQT (Electrical Validation Qual Team) for specific IP or IO on assigned product, to drive all electrical coverage quality with IP designer, SoC designer, Signal Integrity engineer, quality engineer and HVM test content team to ensure meeting PRQ (Production Release Qualification) criteria.
    • Coach and mentor EV community to bring up the overall technical competency issues.

    The chosen candidate will also have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below:

    • Willingness to present information and influence technical groups (SP)
    • Excellent communication skills

    Qualifications:

    What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

    • Bachelor of Science degree and and 3+ years of experience. or a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of experience.
    • 2+years experience with validation techniques and electrical compliance requirements for either high speed serial or parallel interfaces.
    • 1+ year of experience in validation methodologies.
    • 1+year experience in conducting electrical test and measurements
    • 1+ year experience with programming languages such as Python, C.
    • 1+ Experience in handling various high-speed test and measurement equipment such as high bandwidth real time/sampling oscilloscope, high frequency pulse/signal, power supply is an added advantage.

    How to Stand out (Preferred Qualifications):

    • Post Graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or in a related field of study
    • 2+ years experience verifying complex designs both at the component and full chip level.
    • 2+ years experience Pre-silicon verification experience with networking protocols and IPs (Ethernet, PHY, PCIE).
    • 2+ years experience in architecting and developing testbenches and verification components like bus functional models and scoreboard checkers

    Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
