THE ROLE


In this role, you will provide operational leadership, championing multiple, cross-functional projects, and initiatives of the Human Resources department from inception to rollout.

You will optimize workflow and processes to enhance the overall employee experience, leverage Workday functionality, and ensure that policies and practices align with AMA values, TYLF culture and legislative compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Report to the Director, Employee Engagement & Experience and the Director, Total Rewards & HR Technology.
  • Manage the reoccurring annual projects/processes of the HR department to ensure a proactive, wholistic, seamless approach.
  • Champion and lead various projects from inception to completion, effectively selecting and marshalling resources needed to ensure crossfunctional collaboration, efficiency, and success.
  • Draft and maintain policy and procedure documentation (including guides, manuals, supporting documentation) to ensure alignment with approved, uptodate associated HR practices.
  • You'll think innovatively and build consensus across teams, while motivating others to adopt new concepts and strive for continual improvement.
  • Research, interpret, and communicate best practices and trends in the HR landscape. Provide recommendations to HR Leadership Team.
  • Analyze and interpret the financial costs associated with relevant projects.
  • Build strong and productive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Model behaviour that is aligned with AMA's values and expected behaviours.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have postsecondary education or a certification in business, human resources, project management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related HR Generalist experience and/or business operations leadership experience, preferably with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership or senior level role.
  • Solid experience in managing initiatives and collaborating with all levels of leadership.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate analysis, and present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Selfdirected, actionoriented, and innovative with exceptional ability to influence, motivate and develop people.
  • Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen training and experience is an asset.
