The electricity system is currently in the midst of the energy transition as we increase electrification of the economy and look to reduce the impact to the environment.
The Planning, Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for assessing emerging and ongoing impacts to the system and organization with an aim to inform decision makers and facilitate response in support of Hydro One's strategic goals.
This is performed through the team's activities which include managing and developing R&D, strategies, planning policy and physical asset standards.
Primarily, this position will support, manage and administer Corporate Standards at Hydro One.Additional oppotunities and exposure may include participating in support of research activity, reporting, planning, forecasting, financial or data analysis, reviewing processes, technical assessments, communications,.
General Accountabilities:
- Support the successful management and development of corporate standards
- Develop and update reports to communicate the status of standards development projects
- Perform a variety of duties, including record keeping, responding to stakeholder inquiries, and providing general support
- Monitor, on a monthly basis, the progress status of inflight work, identifying any variances
- Collect data to support analysis
- Assist in discussions, problem solving and issue resolution regarding process changes, implementation and ongoing work
- Maintain Corporate Standards SharePoint site
- Other duties as required
Selection Criteria
Essential Knowledge:
- Requires knowledge of office principles and Microsoft Office programs to perform data collection and input activities and file maintenance.
- Requires a proficient knowledge of English including written and verbal communication skills to be able to effectively prepare written correspondence, assist in discussions, and interact with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of programming and databases considered an asset
- Understanding of business analysis techniques considered an asset
- This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of Grade XII and first or second year university.
Essential Experience:
- Ongoing studies in the field of business, economics, engineering or computer science
- Previous office experience
