Job Description:
We are a growing custom electronics integration company seeking an experienced QuickBooks Online expert to help clean up our books and improve our accounting structure.
We recently experienced an issue with our D-Tools Cloud integration, which resulted in invoices posting incorrectly and creating balances in Unapplied Cash Payment Income.
We need help diagnosing the root cause and correcting the entries properly — not just masking the problem.Immediate Needs:
- Fix Unapplied Cash Payment Income Issues
o Correct existing entries
o Ensure D-Tools → QBO sync posts properly going forward
- Chart of Accounts Cleanup
o Simplify and standardize income categorization
o Ensure reporting aligns with GAAP best practices
- P&L Review & Optimization
o Review COGS structure (labor vs product separation)
o Confirm revenue recognition approach is appropriate
o Improve reporting clarity for job-costing
- Process Review
o Recommend structural improvements
o Ensure integration between D-Tools and QBO is optimized
o Align bookkeeping practices with accounting standards
Our Business:
- Custom AV / Low Voltage Integration company
- Project-based revenue
- Uses D-Tools Cloud for proposals and invoicing
- QuickBooks Online (current platform)
Ideal Candidate:
- Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor
- Experience with job-costing or project-based businesses
- Familiar with D-Tools Cloud integration (strongly preferred)
- Comfortable reviewing and improving accounting workflows
- Not just transactional cleanup — strategic structure guidance
Scope:
Initial cleanup project, with potential for ongoing advisory relationship if a good fit.

- Relevant experience
- Confirmation of QBO certification
- Any experience with D-Tools or construction/integration companies
- Estimated timeline and hourly rate
Mandatory skills:
Intuit QuickBooks, Accounting Basics, Bookkeeping, Bank Reconciliation, Profit and Loss
