    Position Summary

    The Venue Services Team Lead is a member of the Venue Services Team, responsible for assisting the Venue Services Supervisor in providing leadership to the Venue Services Team, while maintaining the venues and following safety procedures.

    The Venue Services Team Lead positions available are casual-part-time positions that will require the successful candidate to work flexible hours throughout the week. Scheduled hours may be 0 – 40 hours per week with no guarantee of hours based on the operational needs of the team.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Aid the Venue Services Supervisor with the execution of daily activities.
  • Liaise with internal departments, clients and coordinators to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental efforts in Calgary Stampede facilities and follow programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform housekeeping/janitorial tasks, as required including, but not limited, to cleaning venues, sweeping, event set up.
  • Operate motorized vehicles and equipment, including forklift, as required.
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have the ability to multitask, as well as the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service and a high level of professionalism.
  • Possess previous leadership experience.
  • Possess excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates social awareness and communicates with tack and diplomacy.
  • Has previous cleaning and maintenance knowledge and experience.
  • Possess a valid (non-GDL) AB driver's license.
  • Has the ability to operate motorized equipment.
  • Does not have a fear of working around large animals and livestock.
  • Is able to read English in order to understand instructions, notices, hazards and labels.
  • Physical demands

  • Involves repetitive arm, hand and finger movement.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lb., pushing, crouching, bending, kneeling, stair and reaching.
  • Daily stair and ladder climbing, occasional exposure to noise, fumes, hazardous chemicals, dust, animal dander and changes in temperature.
  • Adequate visual acuity, sense of smell and sense of touch are required
