Overview:
We are currently looking for Skilled Bridge Labourers to join our Bridge Construction team in Edmonton and surrounding area.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform general construction labor to include jobsite cleanup and moving of materials by hand.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
  • Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
  • Operating motorized equipment including power tools, grinders, saws, hammers, etc.
  • Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
  • Assist in pouring and placing concrete.
  • Mostly interior work but could be exposed to cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
  • Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
  • Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Experience:


  • Experience in bridge building is a must
  • Preference also given to those willing to learn and work in a team environment.

Competencies:


  • Safety oriented
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Able to work well with others
  • Good communication skills
