Your Opportunity
- Under the general direction of the Director of Library Services, is responsible for working with students and faculty in the provision of Library reference and instruction services, liaison to one or more instructional departments, preparation of guides and tutorials, and representing the Library at campus events. Other duties may include professional development and service.
Functions and Duties 2. Prepares and delivers inclass instruction to students, in conjunction with other librarians. 3. Acts as liaison to one or more instructional departments to ensure that Library collections and services meet instructional and student needs. 4. Prepares guides and tutorials about research and the use of Library collections and services, using a variety of media and formats. 5. In collaboration with the Campus Librarian and other Library Services and OC employees, represents Library Services at OC and Library campus events and activities. 7. Engages in service activities that support the College and/or the profession and/or the community. 8. Other related Librarian duties.
Education and Experience - Minimum qualification is a degree from an accredited Master's program in Library and Information Studies.
- Experience in the provision of library reference and instruction services.
- Experience assisting library users with both print and electronic resources, including creating instructional materials in a variety of formats.
- Recent experience in an academic library is preferred
Skills and Abilities - Familiar with, and supportive of, new and emerging technologies in library services; comfortable in a computerized environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to promote contact and communication among students and faculty.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, to assist in the delivery of library services.
- Ability to work with people of diverse educational and sociocultural backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills in managing multiple activities and working under time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Schedule - 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday Some evenings and weekend work may be required from time to time.
