As a Traffic Control Person, You Will:

  • Protect workers in the construction zone by directing and controlling traffic using approved signage
  • Set up and takedown work zones
  • Respond to questions from members of the public regarding traffic direction, alternate routes, and driving directions in a professional manner
  • Keep the flow of traffic moving with as few delays as possible
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees and general public
  • Notify supervisors of unsafe or changing scenarios
  • Performing other related duties as required

What You'll Bring:


  • Valid Driver's licence with a clean Driver's abstract with daily access to a vehicle in order to support the travel requirements of this position
  • Previous construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Ability to cope with regular hazards in a construction environment inclement weather, dust, noise etc.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work as manual labour is required to complete these tasks, such as lift up to 50lbs, stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Communicate effectively while interacting with members of the public
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Effective team player able to build relationships and mutual respect with fellow employees
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to work extended hours, days, nights, and weekends as assigned
