Kids & Youth sports COACH,**Part Time Position

The coach will provide leadership to the program through coaching, development and organizing practices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Plan, organizing, advertising, and conducting tryouts for the basketball program & Kids Fit Challenge program (4-12 years old kids); developing player's skills, organizing and conducting practices, coaching tournament games, developing a competitive program that encourages sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Lead, develop, evaluate, and prepare student athletes for successful competition.
Lead the selection of promising student athletes within their specific sports program.
Instructs players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport;
Creates a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students;
Supervising athletes during practices and competition;
Maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security;
Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
Model good sportsmanship behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards opposing team, fans, parents, officials, spectators and community;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated abilities include strong communication, presentation, organizational, leadership, administrative, budget management, and interpersonal skills.
The skill and ability to problem solve and exercise good judgment, take initiative, as well as maintain tact and composure in a highly competitive environment.
Three to five years of experience coaching basketball, preferably at the high school level.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
