Description
Join the Canacre team in an exciting role working on leading edge infrastructure projects.We are technical experts in land, energy, and transportation development delivering accurate, innovative, and agile solutions to our partners. We provide land acquisition, geospatial mapping, data management, web-based GIS, community relations, land feasibility studies, and permitting services.
Canacre's clients include developers, large scale service providers, and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States.
Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.
In addition, your role will be to:
- Perform data analytics using statistical tools to interpret data sets, identifying trends and patterns that could be valuable for analytics efforts
- Perform data engineering, including data integration, data contextualization and aggregation, to enable data science work
- Train machine learning models to analyze, categorize and forecast impacts
- Support model creation, development and delivery process (full lifecycle)
- Extract data from primary and secondary sources for use in reporting and analytics
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with stakeholders to build instrumentation and define tools to support business practices
- Support analytical efforts to pinpoint opportunities that align with strategic goals, targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Share best practices with the team and propose innovative solutions for continuous process improvements
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience in data mining, statistical analysis, and/or predictive analytics
- Minimum 5 years of applied machine learning modeling experience
- Advanced knowledge and working experience with distributed databases and complex data sets
- Experience in Statistical analysis
- Experience in predictive and prescriptive modeling
- Proficient in leveraging Microsoft Azure for data handling, analysis and visualization
- Proficient in integrating large and disparate datasets using python
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be comfortable in ambiguity, multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
