We are currently seeking a Production Unit Team Leader to join our Polyethylene 1 (PE1) team at our Joffre Petrochemical Manufacturing Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer.
As a member of the Joffre Production Leadership Team, you will play an integral role in driving safe, reliable, and competitive operations.
You Will Use Your Expertise In:
Responsible Care:
Provide Responsible Care (RC) leadership, assuring our RC standards, procedures and programs to help achieve the site Responsible Care targets and adherence to Life Saving Rules.
Ensure effective use of Responsible Care Learning System processes. Assurance with compliance to government regulations and NOVA Chemicals Responsible Care standards, procedures and programs.Act as the key leadership contact and focal point for regulatory bodies with the ability to escalate issues to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Model and assure World Class Conduct of Operations. Ensure operationalization of NOVA's Nature through modeling these values, practices and habits and assuring our culture aligns.Champion site and regional operations Continuous Improvement and Management of Change processes including periodic assurance that processes are functioning as intended and aligned across Manufacturing West.
Provide oversight to the incident investigation process to ensure timely, accurate and thorough investigations, including driving systemic changes to improve performance and prevent reoccurrence.
Operational Excellence:
Build and gain approval for annual and longer-term business and improvement plans and provide manufacturing capability to deliver on these commitments.
Provide assurance on daily, weekly and monthly plan targets and performance in support of achieving the annual business plan. Engage in the asset and site management system to communicate performance and plan to close gaps.Drive maintenance work management (MWM) performance and efficiency within the asset, through operational discipline to standards and collaboration across teams.
Enable availability threat management by engaging the workforce in the identification, awareness and resolution of unit and site level risks.
Drive cross-boundary and cross-site issues and opportunities awareness and resolution and lead site and region level problem solving as required.
Achieve NOVA Chemicals' operational excellence philosophy, ensuring unit alignment and consistency. Achieve consistency in operations by establishing and communicating consistent expectations in collaboration with regional production leadership. Provide oversight when required for employee and technician progression, promotion, training and team balancing. Work diligently to remove barriers and improve cooperation and collaboration between work groups.You Will Stand Out If:

Relocation will be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 20% travel
