What you'll do


The
Manager, Decision Support Analytics is a key member of the Canadian Tire Retail (CTR) Decision Support Analytics team, specifically supporting
CTR Strategic Initiatives.

In this role, you will lead a team of high performing analytics professionals to provide actionable analytical support and business insights to the Merchandising and Automotive VPs for major initiatives in the Canadian Tire Retail business.


We are looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and retail business acumen to partner closely with the business.

Your role will involve leveraging sales, customer, and 3rd party data to provide actionable insights and guide investment decisions; clearly communicating recommendations to senior leaders and working collaboratively with other supporting teams to integrate findings.

Reporting to the AVP of CTR & Real Estate Decision Support, the Manager will lead a team responsible for:

  • Building relationships with the client group to achieve both our team's and their objectives
  • Arming our business partners with datadriven insights that will inform and drive key business decisions
  • Proactively identifying and communicating business impacts and improvement opportunities using appropriate statistical models accompanied with "big picture" takeaways
  • Analyzing the performance of limitedtime initiatives to derive the incremental or the associated uplift and to forecast future performance
  • Participating in high priority business requests, including deepdive analysis, performance management, and profitability analysis on transformative projects

What you bring:


  • University degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role; preferably with prior management experience.
  • You have excellent business acumen and a strong ability to build effective working relationships and develop a team of high performing analysts to drive operational success.
  • Problem solver who has ability to clearly communicate results to senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in data storytelling and guiding team to present data in a narrative format to drive business understanding and influence decision making through insights.
  • Experience in working with Power BI and strong understanding of its features & capabilities to create engaging & dynamic visualizations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL and data management best practices to ensure data is accurate, and processes are scalable and efficient to maintain.
  • Experience with Python and/or Azurebased analytical tools is an asset.
