Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical guidance to teams outside of Engineering regarding BI best practices
  • Review others' work on BI dashboards, custom code snippets, etc.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks analyze situations, coordinate troubleshooting and problem solving activities, ensure proper follow up for postincident analysis are completed and implement necessary process improvements
  • Contribute to projects to achieve project goals
  • Work towards departmental goals and objectives like improving accuracy of technical project estimates, improving critical test coverage, and overall code quality
  • Collaborate with teams outside of Engineering to ensure that all stakeholders understand project goals, requirements and realistic timelines

Qualifications:

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering discipline or equivalent focused professional experience
  • Writes tests early on and values decoupled easily testable code
  • Experience constructing testing plans and making risk assessments
  • Ability to effectively debug, troubleshoot and problem solve primarily using existing documentation, support forums, and in coordination with a vendor's support team
  • Experience communicating directly with internal and external customers to synthesize their requirements and align it with business goals
  • Experience coordinating between multiple teams to ensure stakeholders are informed, involved and their needs are addressed in a timely manner
  • Experience working with SQLbased relational databases like Postgres, MySQL/MariaDB and complex queries, aggregate functions, joins, window functions, etc.

Good to have:


  • Experience at all stages of the development cycle from requirements gathering to deployment
  • Experience with R
  • Experience with JavaScript, CSS as related to web forms and chart styling
  • Experience with SQL query optimization and working with large datasets on the order of millions of records
