Role

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead team daily on operational issues and concerns
  • Annual review of investment strategies including permitted asset classes, asset mixes and permitted ranges, investment characteristics and Asset/ Liabilities matching strategies.
  • Perform research on different investment topics for education purposes of the Investment Committee members
  • Quarterly monitoring of investment managers, including compliance with SIPP guidelines.
  • Analysis and recommendations for investment manager selection.
  • Maintain relationship with the Investment managers, investment consultants and custodian
  • Chair and coordinate the activities of the Asset/Liability Management (ALM) internal BCL committee
  • Staying abreast of changing investment landscape including availability of new investment vehicles

Requirements:


  • University degree in actuarial, finance or investment
years of investment experience in an insurance company

  • Financial designation (CFA, FCIA or FSA)
  • Understands the regulatory requirements of insurance companies
  • Excellent research skills and highly developed analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Superior understanding of the financial markets


  • Bilingualism

  • English & French considered an asset
