    Requirements and Nature of Work:

    Nature of Work:

    Duties will span the scholarly spectrum and can include: conducting literature reviews; creating surveys and other tools; collecting, managing and analyzing data; co-writing peer reviewed articles and media materials; co-presenting findings; and managing the activities of a unit within a broader organizational structure. Students will also be encouraged and supported to conduct their own original research and build academic skills such as research methods, theory building, and perhaps even scholarly publishing. There may be some administrative duties required on occasion in order to help build highly transferable professional skills such as leadership and teamwork, project management, and community engagement.

    • Superior writing and research skills;
    • Able to read and comprehend legal language;
    • Ability to work individually and self-motivated;
    • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively;
    • Polished and professional;
    • Team player attitude.
    Asset qualifications:
    • Prior knowledge and experience regarding Africa and/or intellectual property;
    • Graphic design, media, and/or professional communications skills;
    • Fundraising, grant application, and research administration experience.
