Career Opportunity
Drive Autogroup, is currently looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician to join the team.

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of our dealerships including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, adjustments, renovations, tools and machine operation, events setups and teardowns and miscellaneous general duties as assigned.


Responsibilities

  • Tasks include but are not limited to sweeping, shoveling, snow plowing, grass cutting, landscaping, routine upkeep, general cleaning of exterior premises and related grounds, green space, pedestrian, traffic areas and walkways, driveways and drive through buildings and roof and gutter maintenance.
  • Basic carpentry, metal work, painting, plumbing, electrical, custodial, material handling.
  • Use of equipment and tools such as: snowblower, snowplow truck, front loader, ladders, scaffolding, washing, pickup trucks, sprinter trucks, cleaning and vacuuming machines, scrubber machine, carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Responds to emergency cleaning, maintenance, repairs, renovations, and upkeep requests as needed.
  • Prepares setups and conducts teardowns for programs, services, meetings and special events activities, sales and offsite sponsorship events which occasionally occurs on weekends.
  • Adjusts lighting, temperature, ventilation, etc. as necessary.
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
  • Collaborate and coordinate with workers, contractors, journeypersons and other outside services during facility inspections, repairs, and renovations.
  • Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of identifying necessary repairs.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as handyperson, contractor, installer, property, building maintenance, diagnostic and upkeep work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid "G" class drivers licence minimum, DZ an asset.
  • Machine operator licenses, training and permits. (i.e., working at heights, confined spaces, WHMIS, First-Aid, CPR, Lockouts etc.)
  • Skyjack license would be an asset, training can be provided.
  • Working at heights certification required, training can be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Experience using various hand and electrical tools.
  • Experience in using snow blowers, snowplow trucks. Some training is provided for any gap areas.
  • Excellent people skills: demonstrating an ability to organize the work, deliver results while commanding the respect of the team.
  • Strong ability to work without high level of supervision.
  • Selfstarter who can think quickly and get the job done safely.
  • Ability to read job orders and log reports, write actions, repair reports, tasks completed.
  • Ability to safely perform physical work, cleaning, lifting, and operating heavy machinery and equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to all areas of the dealership property, offsite dealerships, and event venues.
  • Exposure to all outside temperature extremes and weather conditions during all seasons cold and hot.
  • Personal protective gear and extreme weather gear and equipment required.
  • Standing, walking, and performing physical tasks throughout shift.
  • Lifting heavy objects up to 50lbs such as furniture, garbage bags etc. is required.
  • Exposure to cleaning, construction and maintenance equipment and chemicals.
  • Working alone on dealership premises
  • Additional hours required for emergency situations.
