    Limited Term Position - Accounting

    The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Gerald Schwartz School of Business is inviting applications for a nine-month Limited Term Appointment to begin on August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to curriculum development and deliver courses in areas such as Introductory Business, Introductory Financial Accounting, Introductory Managerial Accounting, and/or Advanced Financial Accounting. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in the service duties expected of faculty.

    Candidates will be considered based on their combination of education and relevant work experience. Applicants should possess a professional designation like a CPA (a graduate degree in the field will also be considered), though preference will be given to candidates who possess or are near completion of a PhD in Accounting. Recent teaching and/or relevant industry experience will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be foremost a collegial and innovative teacher who will excel in an undergraduate, experiential learning environment and demonstrate a capacity for research. The Department is also seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFX's priorities of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

    The Gerald Schwartz School of Business houses three departments and offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with several degree streams as well as a thesis-based honours program, a co-op option and multiple international exchange opportunities. St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) is one of Canada's leading primarily undergraduate universities, nestled in the small Nova Scotia town of Antigonish within the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. Our historic residential campus is home to a population of around 4,000 students, one-in-five of whom are in the BBA program.
