The opportunity


As an Assistant Director, you will join EY Canada's wavespace and innovation team where you will have the opportunity to work with some of our most forward-thinking clients to help them navigate the waves of the Transformation Age.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working with EY account teams and our clients to help identify and articulate clear areas of focus for innovation and transformation where our wavespace capability can help build meaningful outcomes
  • Leading endtoend wavespace journeys where you will:
  • Drive discovery phases to ensure an in depth understanding of clients' current situation and future vision through interviews and/or review of strategic plans.
  • Design, prepare and execute immersive innovation sessions where you will:
  • Work with the client to co-design the approach for the session
  • Identify and bring internal and/or external thought leaders, case studies and examples to inspire new perspectives
  • Ensure that relevant insights from client discovery phase are shared
  • Facilitate designthinking based ideation and prioritization sessions to draw out innovative, stakeholdercentric, valuegenerating opportunities
  • Build alignment across stakeholders and develop roadmaps and action plans that everyone agrees to
  • Leverage your creative ingenuity and our digital collaboration technologies to create exceptional and unique immersive experiences with our clients
  • Collaborate with EY account teams to deliver insightful briefings from the wavespace journeys to support further engagement opportunities
  • In addition to leading wavespace journeys with our clients, you will also help drive our EY Canada Innovation program by:
  • Working with the Innovation Lead and executive sponsors to design, launch and execute challenge-based innovation campaigns across EY Canada to identify and prioritize new ideas to better serve our clients
  • Facilitating design sprints with idea teams and other stakeholders to help bring ideas from seed concept to business plan
  • Orchestrating client involvement in relevant idea generation, idea development and/or idea evaluation activities
  • Helping to manage a portfolio of innovation initiatives and tracking associated progress metrics

In general, you will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to integrate into new teams and rapidly establish credibility with clients and EY executives
  • Deliver differentiating client experiences, devise practical approaches to solving complex problems and drive alignment towards insightful solutions.
  • Be well versed in digital trends and disruption affecting our clients' business landscape.
  • Have strong project management skills, be delivery focused / detail oriented and demonstrate confidence in managing executive stakeholders with potentially differing perspectives
  • Promote collaboration and elevate conversations to new heights
  • Deliver exceptional and highquality outcomes that bring new value to our clients
  • Coach others as necessary to create highperforming delivery teams for each client wavespace journey
  • Support account teams as necessary in any follow up client pursuits

Skills and attributes for success

  • Exceptional executive presence
  • Executive level meeting management and facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with digital trends affecting the business landscape and key issues / opportunities facing major industries
  • Cultural/political awareness and strong EQ

To qualify for the role you should have:

  • 4-8 years of management consulting or equivalent business transformation or strategy experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Expertise in design thinking tools and methods
  • Prior experience in business process redesign and/or operating model definition is considered a plus

Ideally, you'll also have

  • MBA or equivalent Master's degree
  • Bilingual in English and French
