SITECH Mid-Canada is seeking highly-driven Bench Service Technician who is customer centric and enjoys working with the best in class industry experts.

This person who we seek will work on the most advance construction technologies that Trimble Navigation has to offer:
machine control components, site positioning systems (GPS and Robotic Total Stations), construction lasers, optical surveying instruments, and accessories.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical and optical equipment
  • Managing work orders and assigning priority
  • Clearly communicate with customers, estimate work, and advise of alternate options
  • Document and record processes accurately
  • Liaise with other service technicians
  • Maintain tools and test equipment
  • Help maintain inventory levels and source nonstandard parts when needed
  • Participate in training sessions and share information learned with other technicians
  • Help maintain procedure manuals for testing components
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree or suitable Diploma in electronics or equivalent experience with a strong understanding of electronic fundamentals
  • Prior training on Trimble Construction products would be considered a tremendous asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel

Requirements/Skills

  • 3 to 5 years experience in the servicing industry
  • Strong mechanical skills and excellent manual dexterity
  • Speak and write English fluently and clearly. French language would be an asset
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with repairing and refurbishing electronic/mechanical components
  • Experience on instruments in the construction, land surveying, or engineering field considered a tremendous asset
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team environment with mínimal supervision
  • Cooperative and supportive team member
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Patient, responsible, organized, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and with a sense of urgency to achieve results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Quick learner with the ability to take initiative
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
  • Possess or able to possess a passport, to travel to the US for training
  • Must reside close enough to the Burlington office for a reasonable commute.
