Simply put, members of our relationship management team are advisors who help entrepreneurs navigate the hardest pain points of scaling a business - from ideation to IPO and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as a VP Banking Cleantech - National Lead. In this role, you will play a critical role in advancing the future of our cleantech national banking practice. You will be responsible for leading the cleantech specialization across Canada.

You will drive growth and profitability by supporting our cleantech Relationship Managers, by cultivating relationships with our cleantech growth client companies and by networking with peers at the center of the cleantech landscape.

You will set strategic vision for RBCx's cleantech banking practice and execute it while being aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading banking partners to launch new programs and enhance our project execution capabilities on a national scale.

VP Banking will be a thought partner and collaborator, engaging early and often with teams across the organization to effectively balance corporate objectives as well as the Internal team's vision and mission of clean technology.

Offering expert insights and advice to foster and scale business initiatives that align with environmental, social, and governance goals. They play a crucial role in advancing the future of climate technology and sustainable practices within the banking sector.

What will you do?

Serve as a thought leader and advocate for clean technology within the banking industry, influencing key stakeholders and driving policy changes to support sustainable initiatives.
Support, mentor & coach regional local cleantech champions to successfully understand the market, client approach and discussions.
Hands on experience with a wide variety of cleantech growth companies,
Expert in clean technology, trade finance, the broader technology sector, real estate and investments
Create and execute commercial agreements, define scope of work and set up new program models for the business that enable revenue streams for various lines of business.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, research institutions, investors and other stakeholders to advance clean technology solutions and drive impactful change.
Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the clean technology sector, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Mitigate risks associated with clean technology investments, developing robust risk management strategies to protect the company's interests while maximizing opportunities for growth.
Conduct indepth financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities in clean technology projects, assessing risks and potential returns to inform decisionmaking processes
Lead business development activities and provide direction to the team of program and operation managers on execution strategy and pricing

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

8+ years' experience in clean technology and innovation or consulting capacity
A bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, or any relevant education.
Complete focus on providing excellence in customer service and growing the business.
Experience working with wide variety of cleantech companies and Venture Capital Firms
Connector within the cleantech ecosystem with clients and stakeholders
An analytical and strategic mindset, along with bigpicture thinking to develop and execute our cleantech startegy
Technical expertise in clean technology, innovation, key climate and sustainability policies, applied research, national and global climate landscape, climate regulatory environment.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, relationship building and storytelling skills (written and verbal) to interact across all levels of the organization and external sectors with impact and influence, acting as a climate ambassador across the organization
