Description

Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

  • Experience: Will train

Tasks:


  • Load and offload machines
  • Push carts, trucks or cans of fibres from one work area to another
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Assist machine operators and other têxtile workers as required
  • Prepare solutions to clean, dehair, pickle, oil or tan hides and skins
  • Position leather according to grain, flaws and stretch
  • Operate machine or manually fabricate leather products
  • Operate a variety of machines to bleach, dye, coat or finish fabric, thread, yarn or other têxtile products
  • Number pelts to indicate their place on pattern
  • Notify supervisor or mechanic of equipment malfunctions
  • Examine products for defects and to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Cut fabric or layers of fabric to specifications
  • Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery
  • Adjust rotation and mixing action of vats according to state of pelts
