The Risk Control mandate is to bring transparency to the risks in TDS.

This is achieved by taking a leadership role in the accurate, complete, objective assessment of all key algorithmic risks in TDS through the identification, understanding, control and ongoing review of these risks.

Job Description:

The position will have the following important facets:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Market Risk Control, Toronto, the position will be part of a transversal team providing 2nd line challenge and review of algorithmic risk, working in partnership with the business (1A and 1B), Compliance, Model Validation and other areas of Risk.
Formalize TDS's overall e/Algorithmic trading risk appetite and evolve risk management operating model accordingly by working with the AVP, MRC, to develop formal Global Algorithmic Trading Policy and algorithmic control standards, defining overall algorithmic trading risk management framework.
Establishment of the organization structure, design of the engagement model and formalize standards and evidence while developing partnerships with the other stakeholders.
Provision of support throughout the algo lifecycle involving regular contacts with 1A and 1B lines of control and implementation of a robust process to capture key risk management 'artifacts', templates, and reporting across algorithmic lifecycle steps
Provision of advice across 2nd line and coordination with other stakeholders (like Model Validation when Algorithmic classified as model and Compliance in all cases).
Review and approval of 'container' for Algorithms.
Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements.
You are required to demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviours in alignment with TD policies and practices.
It is your responsibility to ensure that execution of your function is line with documented procedures specific to your role or business.

Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with cross functional teams, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders at multiple levels
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
