Summary:


We are looking for a self-starter with an ownership mindset, strong safety culture, a focus on process efficiency, continuous improvement and customer service.

Under the guidance of the Senior Operations Manager, Kingston Distribution, this role is accountable to oversee all operations in the transportation department to ensure daily targets are met in order to provide on time and on quality deliveries to our Tim Horton restaurants.

This leader will have a focus on health and safety, supervisor development and drive the engagement of approximate 100 employees including supervisors, drivers, and those employees based in resident yards.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 35 years of successful leadership experience within the warehouse, transportation/freight
- logistics industry

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
  • Knowledge of Transportation regulatory compliance (Ministry of Transportation, Hours of Service etc.)
  • Experience with driver onboard systems such as Omnitracs or Peoplenet
  • Experience with operational performance management such as route efficiency, safety and on time deliveries
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to safety
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment
  • Proficient computer skills in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to ensure successful results of Transportation performance metrics such as On Time, Route Efficiency, Scorecard, Execution of Accuracy
  • Identify areas of opportunity for improvement and implement solutions by working with Routing, Restaurants Owners and Drivers
  • Address and respond to Restaurant inquiries, concerns and Customer Service inquires
  • Develop and implement routines, policies and standard operating procedures for the transportation team
  • Drive engagement of the team with high touch inperson interactions including resident yards
  • Support and develop the performance of the transportation supervisory team including performance reviews, corrective action, KPI monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Operations Manager, to ensure ongoing success of the operation including support of department spend and budget controls
  • Drive effective communications to the team including support of driver meetings, driver committee and ad hoc messaging to the workforce.
  • Help support crossfunctional communications and initiatives with internal departments i.e. Routing, DC, Routing, Fleet
  • Managing partnership 3rd party vendors (such as the Fleet's Maintenance provider)

Other requirements:


  • This position will require occasional travel based on business needs to the resident yards located in Port Hope and Ottawa.
