Job Description:


Housekeeping Head Houseperson

As Public Areas Head Houseperson, your support and leadership will ensure your hotel remains clean, beautiful, welcoming - and also a source of pride.


Rate of Pay:
Starting at $17.59 per hour. Full rate after one year is $20.17per hour.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Supervision and continual training/recognition of the Public Areas colleagues
  • Daily upkeep of all public areas in regards to cleanliness, maintenance and quality control
  • Assist with all guest inquiries that arise during their shift
  • Maintain good departmental and interdepartmental communication
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in good working order
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping Head Houseperson with regard to scheduling, task assignments, and projects
  • Review daily function activity to ensure all necessary time lines are met
  • Assist with inventory control
  • Attend communication meetings
  • Work a variety of shifts, over a 24 hour period
  • Following all safety and sanitation policies
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


Your experience and skills include:


  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Previous experience in housekeeping required
  • Valid Alberta drivers license required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Your team and working environment:


  • Standing: 68 hrs/day
  • Sitting: 02 hrs/day
  • Walking: 68 hrs/day
  • Bending/reaching: 46 hrs/day
  • Pushing/pulling: 24 hrs/day
  • Physical effort: moderate, required to lift up 50 lbs
