You'll have:


  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • JD Law Degree
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada (called to the Ontario Bar) 5+ years of experience in a large law firm or corporate law department
  • Knowledge of Canadian laws and regulatory framework for consumer and commercial automotive retail and lease financing
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support transaction execution, industry associations, and other business needs
  • Willingness to work outside of "normal" business hours as required to support key initiatives of Ford Credit Canada

This is a Hybrid position located in Oakville, Ontario - there will initially be requirements of onsite team collaboration as well as occasional travel that may increase over time. To be eligible for this position you must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and be willing to commute to Ford Credit's Oakville location.

Operational Requirements
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Participate as a key member of senior Ford Credit Canada management by providing legal counsel and strategic advice that ensures compliance and generates business opportunities that provide customer-focused solutions
  • Guide business partners in maintaining legally compliant policies, procedures, contracts, and communications for retail and lease financing and servicing, dealer loans, and sales and marketing programs
  • Manage legal risk by anticipating exposure, implementing, or expanding preventive measures to ensure compliance and avoid costs, increasing employee awareness, and improving Company decisionmaking
  • Identify, monitor, and shape the law through participation with key industry associations to advance Ford Credit's position on issues impacting vehicle financing, compliance, and data privacy
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external litigation and securitization counsel, as necessary
  • Embrace and Lead our Culture Transformation by role modeling and promoting Ford OS Behaviors, with specific focus on collaboration and resilience as processes and technologies continue to evolve
