This is a part-time temporary Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 6, 202- The School of Design is looking for qualified Part-time Professors to teach courses in the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program.

Qualifications

GENERAL

QUALIFICATIONS

Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
Excellent communicator
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies (LMS) are required
Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are preferred assets

SPECIFIC

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years' recent and relevant experience in the commercial interior Design industry
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
Humancentric and sustainable design mindset
Demonstrated currency in industry software and tools
Preference given to those who demonstrate proficiency with studio learning and digital fabrication tools (3D printer, CNC router, laser cutter, etc.); basic construction practices are assets
Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and leading innovation
Must be committed to teaching and mentoring students by engaging students in experiential education opportunities
