Lead a team supporting people to achieve better social outcomes

The Role:

The Supervisor, Service Delivery provides leadership, coaching and direct/indirect supervision to a team of Employment and Assistance Workers and Client Service Workers delivering employment, income assistance, and disability assistance supports to citizens throughout the province.

The Supervisor ensures program targets are met, manages budget and staffing allocations, and handles escalations from people seeking our services.

The Supervisor supports the Service Delivery Division's Business Plan by implementing operational changes, monitoring program performance, and recommending improvements, and participating in the long-range planning of our service delivery.


The Service Delivery Division provides income and disability assistance services online, by phone, or face to face in our communities.

We strive to ensure our services are reliable, responsive, inclusive and accessible to all British Columbians who need our support.

The Community Services Branch delivers programs and services through both community and integration services to citizens across the province.

The Virtual Services Branch delivers programs and operational services to citizens across the province through a virtual service delivery model.


Job Requirements:


  • Degree in social services, social sciences, business administration, public administration or a related field and one or more years of related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Related experience must include all of the following:

  • Leading staff in a high volume, rapidly changing customer service environment, through activities such as coaching, evaluating performance, providing direction to employees, orienting/training, scheduling, or using analytics to monitor performance.
  • Providing services to citizens from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to, citizens with mental and physical health issues including substance use issues, and citizens who may be in crisis, impacted by trauma, and displaying frustration.
Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:

  • Planning, directing, monitoring, organizing, assessing and/or controlling of the resources of an organization.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with community partners.
  • Experience supervising in a collective bargaining environment

About this Position:

An eligibility list may be established.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
