JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
- The Business & Economic Development (BED) Team focuses on delivering strategic initiatives
- BC Hydro's service territory.
- This opportunity is best suited to someone who loves working with customers, has strong
- Duties include:
- Provides business oversight related to achieving BC Hydro's Electrification Plan load growth

- Proactively responds to customer inquiries, working with business groups across BC Hydro.
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify barriers to attracting new customers,
key stakeholders on issues related to business and economic development and the development
- of new sectors.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant market changes, innovations, and best practices by
- and external contacts.
- Maintains current knowledge of and advises customers, Business Development Managers, and
- electrification, including potential funding strategies.
- Manages BC Hydro's responsibilities under funding programs as assigned, including preparing
- Contributes to the development of and manages content in tools used to track customer
- Conducts research and prepares topic summaries, reports, briefs, presentations, and meeting
communications strategies and plans for Business & Economic Development (BED), including
- developing presentations, website content, briefing notes, and other materials as required.
- Project manages BED initiatives, including liaising with consultants and internal and external
BC Hydro's customers and stakeholders, including rural communities and Indigenous
- communities.
Qualifications:
***- A University degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 5+ years of specific or related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated skill in building positive relationships with the business community and a diverse
- An understanding of the energy industry, BC Hydro, and BC Hydro's tariffs related to the
