Role Overview/Purpose:

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator's key responsibilities are storage area maintenance, equipment operation, and materials handling.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Inspection of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functionality
Loading, unloading, and moving materials to appropriate storage areas
Excavation of trenches for buried services
Following all safety procedures while operating equipment
Performing regular maintenance (refuelling, fluid checks, lubrication) and minor repairs when necessary
Reporting equipment issues, unusual conditions, and spillage immediately to Supervisor
Staging materials to be brought down for Underground Operations
Emptying garbage bins
Maintaining good housekeeping at storage areas
Snow removal during winter months
All other activities as assigned by the Site Services Supervisor

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience as heavy equipment operator (excavator, loader, and forklift)
Possess a valid Canadian driver's license and clear driver's abstract
A commitment to health, safety, environment, and community
Works effectively independently and collaboratively

Working Conditions:

Role is a 7on / 7off

Physical Requirements:

Role is not physically demanding
