As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our dynamic team.


General Description

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective financial planning and analysis.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and financial statements, to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.

Budgeting Setup and Processing:


  • Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish annual budgets and monitor performance against targets.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor and analyze actual financial results against budgeted expectations, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):


  • Evaluate potential M&A opportunities and conduct due diligence to assess their financial viability and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Develop financial models and projections to support M&A decisionmaking processes.
  • Oversee the integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless financial operations and alignment with the overall business strategy.

Compensation Programs:


  • Design and implement effective compensation and incentive programs to attract, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with HR and department heads to develop competitive and equitable compensation structures.
  • Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of existing compensation programs, making recommendations for improvements as needed.

Requirements/Skills

Specific Experience

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role within a similarsized company.
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration processes.
  • Familiarity with designing and managing compensation programs.
  • Manufacturing experience an asset
  • Internal audit areas to ensure processes are effective in catching and preventing errors and fraud, as well as to ensure optimal efficiencies and cost savings

Financial Expertise:


  • Indepth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Knowledge of accounting for USbased companies

Leadership and Communication:


  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to effectively convey complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and build strong relationships.

Strategic Thinking:


  • Proven ability to think strategically and provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisionmaking processes.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the industry dynamics and competitive landscape.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and French will be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and US GAAP
  • Experience with Epicor P21 or other similar ERP systems
  • Experience with automated receivable and payable platforms
  • Experience and knowledge of Canadian sales taxes and corporate taxes
  • Experience and knowledge of US sales taxes an asset
