Project Manager for Continuous Improvement (Exempt)

Continuing, Full-Time Position

35 (Langley) is looking for a talented Project Manager for Continuous Improvement (Exempt) to join the District's existing team of leaders who work collaboratively to maintain a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.


The opportunity:


Reporting to the Chief Technology & Information Officer, the Project Manager role is responsible for providing leadership to a growing "community of problem solvers" and oversees the work of the Project Manager - Business Applications Solutions.

This position requires a solid track record of managing projects and leading teams of managers and front-line staff.

As one of the top-3 fastest growing school districts in the province over recent years, this is an exciting time to join Langley The Project Manager will help facilitate that growth by evaluating our business processes and uncovering areas for improvement.

This position leads various groups to be able to identify issues and to problem solve, leading to decisions and/or action plans that deliver solutions.

Through this work, the Project Manager will be executing projects that have a direct impact on students, staff, and the community, and will leave a legacy for future generations.

The Information Technology Services Team:

The Team is a hands-on, collaborative group that is passionate about their work, and has the experience to get the job done.


What you bring:

Degree, diploma and/or professional designation in a related field. Five (5) to seven (7) years' recent, related experience in a large, complex unionized environment. Experience in the public education sector would be an asset.
Demonstrated ability to manage project teams to the successful implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Displays a strong understanding of the need for interrelationships between people, processes and enabling technologies as contributors to the District's performance.

Proven leadership, team building, and coaching abilities are essential to provide strong leadership for the District in the area of change management and organizational development.

Strong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
Experience in managing IT related projects including SharePoint/Azure storage.
Experience deploying and/or improving the business flow in PowerSchool is an asset.
Training in LEAN continuous improvement, Six Sigma and/or other relevant process improvement best practices.

Ability to reconcile differing perspectives, develop consensus, and secure cooperation and support from stakeholders, and to resolve conflicts within the project team or stakeholders in the most advantageous manner.
