    • Master's degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline ( toxicology, biology, chemistry)
    • 3-5+ years experience in environmental consulting strongly preferred

    As our newest Risk Assessor, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

    Job DescriptionWorking within our national Risk Assessment team, you will work on contaminated sites projects and gain valuable provincial and federal regulatory experience.

    You will build skills and proficiencies working with clients and regulators to develop technical scopes of work, prepare proposals, and manage and deliver projects.

    Success in this role will require the ability to manage competing priorities and assignments, as well as maintain the ability to remain flexible, independent, and possess a significant attention to detail.


    Key Responsibilities Specific responsibilities will include:



    • Assistance in the preparation of human health and ecological risk assessments, risk management plans, performance verification plans, etc. under various provincial, territorial, and federal frameworks
    • Participation in project planning, and data management
    • Evaluation of site physical attributes, receptor exposure assumptions and toxicity information and completion of exposure and risk models
    • Preparation of site-specific conceptual site models through the consolidation and interpretation of field and analytical data
    • Contribution to proposal writing and support of projects for other technical disciplines (, land quality and ecology)

    • Competitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and a suite of wellness initiatives
    • The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

    Qualifications


    • Graduate degree in biology, toxicology, chemistry, soil science, geoscience, or related scientific field
    • 3-5 years of experience in preparation of human health and/or ecological risk assessments
    • Working knowledge of human health and ecological exposure models
    • Experience in data collection and evaluation
    • Demonstrated analytical, data management, and spreadsheet development skills
    • Familiarity with interpreting biological and toxicological studies (, benthic community assessments, toxicity tests etc.) is an asset
    • Experience with Python or other programming languages is a strong asset
    • Experience working with large datasets, formulas, and lookups in Excel
    • Valid driver's license and ability to occasionally travel to sites/clients
