Summer Relief - Part Time -Secondary School and Post-Secondary

$20.54 hourly

Key Responsibilities:

Perform activities related to patient service and food preparation including portioning of food and
beverages in accordance with meal counts and portion control; ability to demonstrate
understanding of clinical diets; proper food handling, chemical handling and equipment
operation.

Perform tray line activities.

Daily cleaning and sanitation of the food services equipment and area.

Delivery of meals to patients; pick up of soiled trays

Meal service and delivery to NHNH residents using dining room style service as well as clean up
following meal service

Responsible for catering services as required.

Responsible for ware washing as well as small wares equipment and working various positions
on the dishwasher.

May be required to perform other food service activities such as cafeteria service and service to
affiliated long term care home residents

Operate equipment in a safe and sanitary condition.

Responsible for the safe handling of food to ensure delivery of a quality product.

Is knowledgeable of and applies good safety and sanitation practices.

Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to the position

Flexible and rotates activities within Food Service Area as scheduled.

Required to adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions set up by
management.

Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:


  • Current Food Handlers Certificate is required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to exercise good judgement
  • Minimum Grade 10 Completion
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Able to do heavy lifting (30 lbs), repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Established initiative and ability to work independently or as a team in a flexible manner.
  • Solid mathematical ability required
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance record and work ethic.
  • Work within established deadlines and in high temperatures and humidity
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
Must be able to work all shifts as required which may include weekends, statutory holidays, day

and evening shifts. This position is a temporary part time for
May - September 2024.
A satisfactory police Criminal Records and Judicial Matters check will be required as a condition
of hire


Immunization Requirements
Provide documentation that you have received at least three (3) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
and in accepting employment are consenting to follow any future Public Health
recommendations, policies of either NGH or NHNH in accordance with the _Long-Term Care Act_,
and/or other policies and processes related to the management of COVID-19 in the workplace.

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity in accordance with the _Ontario Hospitals Act._
