Objective of Position
We are currently looking for an experienced Glazing Project Manager.

You are customer centric, focused and thrive in a fast-paced working environment that requires open & effective communication between multiple disciplines.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyze architectural drawings and other documentation to successfully deliver projects with specification compliant products, on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Management of Projects for the full project lifecycle from Award to Handover.
  • Review and issue shop drawings for client approval.
  • Obtain and submit samples for client approval.
  • Material takeoff and ordering.
  • Liaise with the fabrication team to ensure timely delivery of material to site.
  • Site visits to review progress and quality.
  • Cost control of material, labour, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc.
  • Foster relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on specified products and cost.
  • Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and quotes for best value.
  • Prepare project schedules and ascertain labour requirements.
  • Maintain files of working documents for backup as may be required.
  • Update cost forecasts at least monthly and escalate concerns where necessary.
  • Prepare and issue Operation and Maintenance and Warranty documentation.
  • Prepare any other necessary documentation as required for the project.
  • Some out of town travel may be necessary.

Experience / Capabilities:


  • Minimum of 2 years Project Management experience in the Commercial Glazing industry.
  • Advanced Project Management skills that include good knowledge of aluminum glazing systems to effectively communicate with business owners, decision makers, engineers, product managers, project managers, engineers, and vendors
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision while exercising great judgment.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Field construction experience is desirable, but not required.
  • Previous estimating experience would be an asset
  • Good English written and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards.

Education:

Bachelors Degree / Diploma or equivalent.
