JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance/facility Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and repair operations at Harbour City Kitchens Inc.

As the Maintenance Manager, they will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our production equipment and Harbour City Kitchens facilities.

Their primary responsibility will be to lead the maintenance department, coordinate maintenance schedules, and implement preventative maintenance measures to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

The Maintenance Manager will also manage facility operations, including building maintenance, safety compliance, and efficient utilization of resources.

Additionally, they will be responsible for managing the receiving and inventory department, tracking various spare parts, all facility maintenance and maintenance expenses, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise, train, conduct performance reviews, and mentor the maintenance team.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that the team operates efficiently to meet maintenance objectives.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all production equipment and machinery. Manage the overall operation and maintenance of the company's facilities, including the manufacturing plant and office spaces.
  • Ensure the facility complies with safety regulations, fire codes, and other relevant standards.
  • Implement procedures and protocols for building security, access control, and emergency response.
  • Oversee janitorial services and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Regularly inspect and assess equipment to identify potential issues and schedule necessary maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate daily with machine operators to ensure machines operate efficiently.
  • Oversee the timely and efficient repair of equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct troubleshooting activities to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of critical spare parts.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety guidelines and industry regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant safety standards and protocols.
  • Track and analyze maintenance performance metrics, such as equipment uptime and maintenance expenses.
  • Generate regular reports on maintenance activities and present them to the management team.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in the maintenance department.
  • Implement best practices and technological advancements to enhance maintenance processes.
  • Work with the management team to establish maintenance budgets and control expenses within the approved budgetary limits.
  • Optimize resource allocation to ensure costeffective maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Maintenance Manager or a similar maintenance leadership role, preferably in the kitchen cabinet industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and industrial systems.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and strategies.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems (maintenance management software experience an asset).
