The Production Manager assists and works closely with the Plant Manager with day-to-day production operations including production planning, production activities and quality control.

The incumbent plays a key role in ensuring the successful operations of the plant.


Production/Operations:
Oversees framing area, treating, shipping, receiving, maintenance and quality control activities.
Support plant manager with management duties.
Approve production orders and interacts frequently with the procurement and planning groups.
Collects, maintains and review production data for potential improvements.
Actively participate in cycle and annual inventory.
Monitors quality and workmanship to ensure quality control.
Works closely with various departments to optimize inventory loss with maximum recovery.
Participates in facility improvements projects.
Planning of production schedules and communicate with Production Supervisor for labor requirements.
Manages payroll transactions.
Manages employee relations and performance management.
Provides/oversees training for all production staff and supervisors.
Ensures plant guidelines are enforced.
Ensures that environmental and safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
Assist the plant manager with workplace safety insurance board accident reporting.
Commits to plant safety policies and procedures.
Mechanical and Technical skills and competencies is required.
Proficiency in English, spoken and written.
Time and stress management.
SAP environment experience is an asset.
Knowledge of wood treating industry.

Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor; some travel to other plants.

While working in plant or yard, exposure to noise from operating equipment, extreme temperatures due to being outside, dirt, dust within the yards, hazards created by operating equipment and being near operating equipment, exposure to hazardous material requiring safety adherence and PPE equipment.
